My first attempt to matte painting. The background and clouds are composited. the ship is composited and then manipulated .

I know this is not good enough.
I would really like to hear your comments.

the reflection is to big and the colours of the ship dont match to the scene

I like it Tapas. I'm impressed that this is your first attempt at this kind of work. You did well with the shoreline and the reflection. I think the small island off in the distnace needs more definition thought. It looks a little 2-D but with some highlights it should come to life. The ship seems a bit out of scale ... too large for the scene but maybe it's supposed to be that way.

The ship doesn't look very solid to me, or it's shell is very thin. Still, great for your first attempt.
